URGENT: UN chief warns that the world faces "a moment of danger" for the crisis in Ukraine

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Wednesday at the opening of the organization’s General Assembly that the world is facing “a moment of danger” over the crisis in Ukraine.

For Guterres, furthermore, “Russia’s decision to recognize the so-called “independence” of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions – and subsequent actions – are violations of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and are incompatible with the principles of the Charter from the ONU”.
