This afternoon, the Executive accepted the resignation of the 18 ministers. As advanced Peru21the resolutions have already been published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
So far, President José Jerí has not said when he will name the new ministers. In this way, all ministries remain headless, a situation never seen before in our country.
In the afternoon, during a meeting with the governors, President Jerí spoke about this issue and stated that he wants proactive ministers.
“I don’t want a cabinet that is sitting at a desk, it has to be a cabinet that is right there, attending to situations and proposing situations or new ideas,” he expressed.
He also referred to the delay in the election of ministers. “We are taking a break. Because it is true, when they want to put pressure on you it is for something that perhaps they are not receiving or, on the contrary, they want you to make a mistake,” he said.
Finally, he highlighted the importance of unity to move the country forward.
“To reach unity we have to convene that space for dialogue and make the necessary decisions to move our country forward. There is no doubt about that (…) There is discontent, it is true, but here you have at least one president who opens the door, listens and proposes alternatives,” he noted.
President José Jerí on the new ministerial cabinet: “We are putting it together”
Last weekend, Jerí was consulted about the new ministerial cabinet. The president limited himself to pointing out that the issue “is being viewed with due responsibility.”
“We are putting together the cabinet, but we will address the political issues in due course. Today we are looking at the issue of the emergency and I will only talk about that,” he emphasized.
