The Human Rights Foundation of Los Llanos (Fundehullan) requested on the night of Friday, August 23, that young Luis Alarcón (22 A), a diabetic patient with high blood sugar levels, who is detained in the context of post-election protests, be transferred to a health center.
“We reported at 8:00 pm that the young Luis Manuel Alarcón, detained in the context of the demonstrations, is in detachment 331 of Conas Barinas. He is an insulin-dependent diabetic patient, today his blood sugar is unstable at 280, which has caused respiratory problems and kidney problems,” the organization warned on the social network X.

Fundehullan urged Venezuelan authorities to allow the young man to be transferred to a health center urgently, so that he can undergo renal tests. They also recalled that Article 43 of the Constitution establishes that “the State will protect the lives of persons who are deprived of their liberty.”
