According to the authorities, there are 36 homes that must be relocated because they represent a danger to their occupants, making it necessary to relocate these families.
The National Civil Protection System indicated that nine of these homes were totally affected by the rains that caused a landslide and affected the buildings.
Manuel Gómez national director of the Civil Protection system in Coclé said that two people were rescued alive in these landslides, however another person lost his life.
The authorities of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, the Antón mayor’s office and the Ministry of Social Development have already visualized a plot of land for the relocation of these 36 families that were affected by the bad weather system.
Gómez stressed that although 27 of the houses did not report serious structural damage, due to their location they do represent a risk to the people who live there, so it is urgent to relocate them as soon as possible to avoid a tragedy like the one that has already occurred.
