In order to survive, the Luis Arce government has decided to go to all lengths to increase the resources required by its spending program.

The key question for the government is where to find irregularities in the universe of taxpayers, although it may not deserve to be called a universe, because it only includes 15% of the population. But the bloodhounds have set off and now begin to show the fruits of their first actions, which consist of squeezing the same lemon.

The National Tax Service (SIN) had to increase its collections and has reported this week that its collections and fines for July reached Bs 580,000 compared to Bs 38,722 in the same month last year.

Perhaps it is not long before the SIN realizes that the lemon has no more juice to give, something that will be nothing more than the confirmation of a more dramatic fact: the companies that pay taxes are dying.

After all, the Fraser Institute of Canada says that Bolivia occupies, in economic freedom, the 123rd position of the 165 countries analyzed.

Meanwhile, the true universe, that of the evaders, 85% of the companies, will be happy because they will continue to be out of the reach of any tax collection project.

By the time that time has come, the government hopes to be in another trench, that of “real rights”, the charge for real property.

The intervention of Real Rights is ready so that it becomes dependent on the MAS government.

Perhaps it is not appropriate, for the moment, to speak of an “urban reform”, similar to the agrarian reform of seventy years ago, but that is what it is all about.

For this purpose, for the moment the MAS government will be interested in increasing the collection of taxes or fines, because it needs to survive.

The new taxes that the government intends to apply in order to meet its goals for the payment of bonds and subsidies have been discovered.
