In recent years the world has changed considerably. In the way we interact, study, work and even travel. Among all the industries that have been impacted, mobility is one of them. Undoubtedly, the changes bring with them great novelties and this was the case with Cabify.
Cabify was born in 2011, in Spain, as a transport network company through an app that connects passengers with drivers. A year after its launch, Cabify landed in Latin America. Regarding Uruguay, the application began operating in 2016.
“Mobility has changed and we try to understand these new needs so that the service we offer to people and companies that travel with us continues to be a benchmark in safety and quality,” said Gerardo Barindelli, Head of Country Performance UY.
Security
“Our priority at all times is the safety of Cabify passenger and driver users, therefore, we work continuously so that the thousands who travel with us every week do so safely. The new developments are one more step in this commitment and our determination is to innovate permanently to continue strengthening our position as a safe alternative”, Barindelli explained.
Among its efforts in this direction, the firm highlights that in all the cities in which it operates, it is an ally of local administrations, and complies and adapts to current regulations. In addition, it offers a range of services that adapts to each need: taxis, private vehicles, corporate service, and different means of payment.
2. Cabify.
Cabify is characterized by being an inclusive and safe app. Since 2019, the application is 100% accessible to blind people and has a specific dedicated team to advance a development plan. And as for the price, it offers clarity and transparency so that the user decides how to move around the city.
safe passengers
Cabify also prioritizes passenger safety and for this it presents a line to follow. First of all, a trusted contact, to whom the data of each trip is automatically sent by email and/or SMS, regardless of whether or not the contact has downloaded the Cabify application.
In turn, the journey is shared by sending the trip information in real time with whoever the user decides at that time; and there is a Security button that calls the local emergency services number. In the case of activating this last option, an urgent follow-up will also be carried out internally.
safe drivers
This button also applies to the driver, which allows him to directly contact Cabify or the security forces. In addition, it has a blocking of dangerous areas, and limits operations in those areas to enhance your safety.
There is a verification of users in order to strengthen the control mechanisms, and of accounts with certain characteristics to confirm the identity of passenger users.
3. Cabify.
Drivers, who can access the In-Person Attention Center, have a Secret signal: this is functionality aimed at protecting drivers who feel insecure during a service, but do not need to resort to the security button. If pressed, a call is immediately made to the driver, who will activate the hands-free so that the passenger can also hear the message and try to dissuade him from engaging in bad behaviour.
Sustainability
According to the International Energy Agency, road transport represents 11.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and urban centers are responsible for 70% of these. For this reason, sustainability is integrated into the business model and the innovation plan of Cabify.
The company has acquired important commitments and reached various milestones in terms of environmental, social and economic sustainability. For example, in January 2018 Cabify became the first carbon-neutral company in the sector, offsetting 100% of emissions globally, and in 2022 it remains the only firm to have achieved this achievement in Spain and Latin America.
Cabify has the “most ambitious” commitment in the sector to reduce emissions: 15% per year. Meanwhile, it works on the electrification of the fleet of its driver users to 100% in Latin America by 2030.
“We have a resounding commitment to the environment from the conviction that sustainable mobility is essential to successfully address the climate crisis,” Barindelli said.
Cabify for companies
Among them, employee mobility is a vital resource in the corporate ecosystem. Taking this into account, Cabify, through its business unit, Cabify for Companies, proposes a responsible and customized transportation for the business with a proposal based on reliability, rate sustainability, and economic benefits, using technology as the focal point of the service. .
The corporate service developed by Cabify offers companies five reasons for contracting it: Control: Avoid handling receipts and control your company’s spending; Transparency: Knowledge of the price before making the trip; Management: Cabify to suit you: reservations, orders from the app, differential cost centers; Security: Accompaniment throughout the journey; Service: Personalized and quality.
gender perspective
Currently, one of the issues that most affects companies is the gender perspective. Inequality is a reality and everyone can do their bit to deconstruct it.
There are no jobs “for men” or “for women” anymore. Labels are put aside and questions arise. For example: “Why was the field of mobility always associated with men?” or “Why is the myth that women are bad drivers still alive?”
4. Cabify.
Questions like these are what sparked Cabify’s idea of changing reality.
For this reason, in the short term the Cabify Mujer initiative will be launched, a program that allows female drivers to take only women and at the same time allows passengers to choose to travel only with female drivers, thus providing them with added confidence and security when using the app.
