The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry carried out an act of imputation against the former superior of the Carabobo state, Miguel José Duran Trejo, together with the 10 former prosecutors: Marilyn Jackeline Hernández, Gabriel José Sánchez, Michael Gabriel Quinter Maldonado, Angel Daza Hernández, Wilmer Agustín Vargas Silva, Angel Dorta Sivira, for the alleged commission of the crimes of obstruction to the administration of justice, advantages or economic benefits of public officials or public officials, delay or intentional omission of aggravated functions, improper use of information or reserved data and association to commit crimes.
These former officials brought actions contrary to their positions, because they maintained direct communication with the criminal Rafael Reyna, a lawyer who demanded large amounts of money to the parties involved, in order to favor them in the investigations and simulate being a prosecutor of the Public Ministry, provided information on the different criminal cases, carried in different fiscal dispatches of the jurisdiction.
These communications include procedures linked to different criminal proceedings that due to their competence must be exclusively treated by duly accredited prosecutors.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office, under the management of Attorney General Tarek William Saab, has executed a relentless fight against corruption to internal the institution in the institution.
In this regard, so far there are 556 processed former officials, of which 138 are already accused, whose judgments advance with a prognosis of a conviction, also from the culminated judgments a total of 54 convictions have been obtained so far.
