More than 20,000 community councils have been updated in the country and continue in the election process for the renewal of their spokespersons, thanks to the organization that the Popular Power and through the citizen assemblies in the communities, in order to elect the main leaders of the working committees.
This was indicated by the member of the Permanent Commission for the Development of the Communes of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Willy Medinaduring the interview granted to the program In the airwhich broadcasts Venezolana de Televisión.
“The communal councils have been updated and they went to elections to this day, more than 20,000 communal councils, likewise, some are in that process at this time, since the spokespersons are expiring,” said the parliamentarian.

Regarding training, he stressed that the University for Communeswith the purpose of training the people and organizing themselves in the communities.
However, Deputy Medina recalled that with the recovery of the Legislative power, the Permanent Commission for the Development of the Communes was created, an instance that has the Subcommittee for the Training of the Communes.
Meanwhile, he added that there are around 20 articles approved for the reform of the Organic Law of Communal Councils and it is expected that starting at 11:30 in the morning this Thursday, the second discussion will take place.

“The National Assembly will not only be in charge of carrying out the bill, but will also accompany the communal councils to ensure that it is complied with,” Medina said.
