Until January of this year, the refund of the Cash Reimbursement Regime of the Value Added Tax (Re-VAT) exceeded 34 million Bolivians. And the number of natural persons registered in this tax regime reached 67,755, until December 31, 2021.
The amount returned for the 5% VAT includes the refund corresponding to December 2021, both in the manual and automatic modality that was made in January 2022, indicates a press release from the National Tax Service (SIN).
The Government instituted the Re-VAT through Law 1355, of December 28, 2020, within the framework of the implementation of measures for the reactivation of internal demand and the reconstruction of the Bolivian economy. The measure started on February 11, 2021.

The Re-VAT benefits with the return of 5% VAT to individuals who have an average monthly income equal to or less than 9 thousand bolivianos.
Details of the beneficiaries
Of the total number of people registered in the Re-VAT, 32,945 are wage earners; 34,360 are self-employed workers; and 450 annuitants and beneficiaries, retirees.
Natural persons who have not yet registered in the Re-IVA, can enter the website www.impuestos.gob.bo, Virtual Office, option “Registro de Beneficiarios Re-IVA”, to fill out a Sworn Declaration, completing the Form 203 with your personal data.
