The registration period for candidacies for the 2023 National and Departmental Elections expires at 11:59 p.m., next Tuesday, January 17. The procedure is carried out before the Electoral Tribunals of the First and Second Chamber of the Capital, located in the central headquarters of the Electoral Justice.
The president of the Electoral Tribunal of the Capital Second Chamber, Dr. Myriam Cristaldo, indicated that the registration of candidacies, in accordance with the Electoral Schedule, began on December 19, “with regard to registration, we are in the middle of the period, so that all the political organizations that will elect authorities on April 30 are already in the middle of the process.”
In this regard, he also mentioned that the Electoral Tribunal of the constituency under his charge, will register the departmental candidacies; Deputies and Departmental Board of Cordillera, Caaguazú, Paraguarí, Alto Paraná, Ñeembucú, Amambay, Canindeyú, Presidente Hayes, Alto Paraguay, Boquerón and those of their representatives as provided by TSJE Resolution No. 279/2022.

For her part, the Interim President of the Electoral Tribunal of the Capital First Chamber, Dr. Myriam Gonzalezindicated that the national candidacies of President and Vice President of the Republic, Senators and the departmental candidacies of the Capital, Central, Concepción, San Pedro, Guairá, Caazapá, Itapúa, Misiones and those of their proxies.
He also added that the period of strikeouts and challenges is also established in the Electoral Schedule, “and the deadline to carry out the process is from January 18 to 22, 2023, before the corresponding Chamber where the candidacy was presented.”
As established in item 60 of the Electoral Schedule The registration of candidacies is carried out from Monday to Friday from 07:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the exception of the last day in which the schedule will be extended until 11:59 p.m., in compliance with article 15, subparagraph e) and article 16 of Law 635/95.
