Un Nuevo Tiempo proposed the urgent “reconstruction and re-institutionalization” of the country through four axes that – according to the organization – must be part of this year’s agenda: political amnesty, economic emergency, re-institutionalization and reconciliation.
Luis Emilio Rondón, deputy and vice president of UNT, pointed out that in the current political situation, “reconciliation and pacification” must be promoted.
At a press conference, the UNT leadership demanded a change of course in the political and economic leadership of Venezuela.
The first axis raised by Rondón is the economic emergency. He considered that an immediate plan must be established to address the crisis, particularly in relation to the devaluation of the bolivar.
The approval of a political amnesty is the second axis proposed by Un Nuevo Tiempo. Rondón expressed solidarity with the political prisoners and demanded their release. “It is essential that all people deprived of liberty for reasons of conscience take to the streets,” he said.
The third point that Rondón raised is the re-institutionalization of the country. He said that Venezuela “is not the property of a political sector” and that it is essential to restore confidence in the vote and in the five national powers.
In Un Nuevo Tiempo they also referred to national reconciliation, which – according to Rondón – cannot be imposed by decree. “There is no longer room to continue subjugating a society that demands participation and peace.”

No opinion on US attacks on Venezuela
The parliamentarian indicated that they would not issue an opinion on the United States attacks on Venezuela to capture Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, but highlighted that they do recognize Delcy Rodríguez as head of the national Executive, as established in article 233 of the Constitution.
For Rondón, US President Donald Trump does not have the power to define the future of Venezuela. “We believe that the most important thing is that we agree, we have a factual situation that we cannot ignore and that implies that we can conclude an election within a peremptory period,” he expressed.
He argued that in Venezuela, based on what happened, not only a problem of territorial sovereignty but also popular sovereignty arises, in view of which article 5 of the Constitution must prevail, which establishes that this sovereignty resides in the people.
This Monday the 5th, the National Assembly was formally installed for the period 2026-2031, whose legitimacy was questioned by the Unitary Platform due to the conditions under which the elections were held to choose the parliamentarians on May 25, 2025 and which they rejected at the time.
The faction of Un Nuevo Tiempo and Unión y Cambio have 12 deputies.
