The National Anti -Drug Superintendent (SUNAD), General Danny Ferrer Sandrea, reported that more than 450 drug trafficking aircraft were useless by the National Government in 2024 throughout the country.
The official added that more than 170 members of criminal structures have been placed to the Order of National and International Instances. “We with good practices, commitment and moral strength offered by a humanistic and revolutionary government will continue to keep these criminal gangs at bay, preventing them from using the national territory for the traffic of substances harmful to health,” Ferrer said.
The head of the Sunad offered his statements within the framework of the celebration of the IV Anniversary of that institution. He affirmed that since former president Hugo Chávez expelled from Venezuela, in 2005, to the United States Drug Control Administration (DEA), the authorities of the Nation have always achieved seizures that exceed 30% of drug confiscated in previous years.
He stressed that this type of actions against illicit drug trafficking is a responsibility of the National Government and Venezuelans to achieve “the solution of the problem.”
“Thus we must be: forceful in the actions, but also firm in prevention and orientation,” said the maximum representative of the country’s anti -drug agency.
Last Friday, Ferrer indicated that, of a total of 40,015 kilos seized in 2024, more than 80% were made at the border with Colombia.
