“We emphatically reject these events that put the life and integrity of the bodyguards at risk, who were stripped of their weapons and the assigned vehicle, leaving them exposed to the elements after the attack,” he stated.

Likewise, the representative Karen Manrique joined the voices of rejection and through a statement requested the Ministries of the Interior, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ombudsman’s Office to immediately attend to the case to restore the conditions of protection and guarantee the fundamental rights of those involved.
“We reject the serious event that occurred on October 15 on the Arauca-Tame highway, where the protection scheme assigned by the UNP to journalist Carlos Pérez was intercepted,” said the congresswoman.
