The University of Havana (UH) and its Shanghai Peer for Science and Technology (USST) in Chinainaugurated this Thursday a laboratory for the diagnosis of cancer and energy treatment in that town of the Asian nation.
Dionisio Zaldívar, vice-rector of the UH, and Cai Yonglian, his USST counterpart, were present at the opening ceremony of the center, along with authorities from both countries, according to a report from the Prensa Latina (PL) agency.

On the same day, an international joint center also opened its doors in the Shanghai house of higher studies and named USST-UH Hub, which will be in charge of attending to the links between the Cuban university and others in China.
The Cuban vice-chancellor indicated that a trip to Havana by a representation of the Chinese university is planned to open a similar office at the UH that will bear the name of UH-USST Hub.
The official explained that both this project and the laboratory for the diagnosis of cancer and energy therapy arose after the signing of a framework collaboration agreement between the two institutions in 2020.
He also commented that during his current visit, the HU established contacts and sealed agreements with the East China Normal University, the Shanghai International Studies University and the Shanghai Normal University, as well as with others from the provinces of Henan, Shandong and Jiangsu. .
Zaldivar mentioned the existing interest in these centers to work with Cuba on issues such as the teaching of the Spanish language, culture and multidisciplinary studies of the Island, and the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean, although they also seek to collaborate in tourism and economy.
He highlighted the incorporation of the UH to the University Alliance of the Silk Road, headed by Xian Jiao Tong University, and the entry into the International Agriculture Consortium directed by Jiangsu University.
The Cuban official also expressed high satisfaction for all these results and emphasized that the idea is to share the experiences with the rest of the national universities and support their access to existing projects.
