Universitario celebrated again, this time against Aurora, which they beat 2-1, in a match played this Tuesday night at the Félix Capriles stadium in Cochabamba, for date 19 of the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division. The light blue team wasted a great opportunity to climb to second place in the standings, because to do so they had to win.

The university students got up early, because 4 minutes into the game, they took the lead with a goal from Daniel Camacho, who collected a ball sent from the left by Rodrigo Llano. Camacho defined at will and goalkeeper David Akologo couldn’t do anything.

The game was uphill for the town’s team, because Jair Reinoso (17′) was sent off for an attack on a rival, which was warned by the VAR. The Cochabamba referee Anyelo Maija showed him a direct red card.

With one less man, Aurora played on an equal footing with the ‘U’ and he even touched the tie with a header from Renny Simisterra (34′), which crashed into the left post of the goal defended by Gustavo Almada.

The town’s team looked for the goal by all means of equality, but it was Universitario who found the goal of tranquility through Esdras Mendoza (53′), who defined a pass from Raúl Castro with a cross shot.

In the first instance, the goal was annulled due to Mendoza’s alleged advanced position, but after the VAR review, referee Anyelo Maija validated the goal.

The celestial team did not lower its arms and rewarded its efforts He found the discount through Darío Torrico (65′), who after a pass from Jair Torrico took a shot to the left side of goalkeeper Gustavo Almada, who did not manage to prevent the goal.

That goal was a morale boost for Aurora, who was on the verge of tying with a shot by Gabriel Montaño (80′), which happened just a few centimeters from the crossbar. In the counterattacks the ‘U’ also created danger, but in the end there were no more goals.

In the final minutes, Universitario was also left with ten players, due to the expulsion of Tommy Tobar (89′), for a double warningmarilla
