A nurse from the Universal Medical Society filed a police complaint on December 18 for having been raped by several co-workers. In the version that the woman gave to the Society, identified six attackerssome of them colleagues and others orderlies, according to reconstructed The Observer with judicial and health sources.
His story is that on December 13 he went to the house of one of the attackers to attend the monthly roast that they had and that at the same time, it was the last of that year. There everything went normally, until she went to help another of the accused who was serving food in the kitchen. At that moment, he poured himself a glass of beer and helped him. When he finished it, he wanted to open a new bottle, but the owner of the house appeared and gave him the rest that was left in a different bottle that was already opened.
Then he says that when he drank it he felt strange. After that, the complainant’s memory of her fades until she feels that in a dark room several men were abusing her while I asked them to stop as stated before the medical authorities.
The only thing he remembers, he exposes, is the voice of one of them asking what was happening while he was groping her. The next image is another of her putting her underwear in the back pocket of her pants while he told her to stay put. They then debated what to do with it. The owner of the house exclaimed with concern that the bride – who also works at the Society – was about to arrive.
He doesn’t remember how he ended up in his own car driving in the direction of his grandmother’s house and ended up crashing and with his car on the shoulder. He called the insurance and went to his destination.
At first I didn’t remember what had happened, but several colleagues who were present at the barbecue told her that she had no control over her own body and ended up in a room with several men. As a result of that, the memories came back and she went to the doctor. According to what she told the Society’s authorities, she filed the complaint on December 21 in Solymar.
When she attended her health insurance company, they found lesions on her breasts, vulva, and extremities. He said that he only had two glasses of beer and took a drag on a marijuana joint, but it had never had the effect that it had that night, which is why he suspects that they put something in his drink.
In January, 15 officials wrote a letter delivered to the Technical Directorate of the Universal Medical Society repudiating what happened. The text, which he accessed The Observerstates: “By means of the present, the undersigned We express our strongest rejection to the acts perpetrated in the person of our companion. We declare our full support and commitment to her. Although the events that we condemn took place outside the institution’s facilities, the accused individuals have as a natural link their belonging to the mutualist where they have their daily meeting space and where they also chose their victim, taking advantage of the common employment relationship with her“.
“In this sense, we understand that the normal attendance of the accused at the institution generates a permanent situation of discomfort, rejection and tension between us. Therefore, we ask you to consider the situation raised to take the pertinent measures that reduce this discomfort, pending the corresponding judicial ruling. We trust in the seriousness and commitment to human rights on the part of the institution,” they closed.
In December, the prosecutor of 3either Shift from Ciudad de la Costa, Cristina Falcomer, was verbally notified of a case of group rape at a New Year’s Eve dinner. Mutualist’s reaction
Consulted in this regard, the general manager of the Company, Alfredo Invernizzi, told The Observer that the legal adviser of the center transmitted to them that they cannot take any action against the denounced until the Justice is pronounced.
Later, the technical manager, Gabriela Sequeira, stated that they noticed that something was happening because the young woman was absent from her job. They summoned her to see what had happened to her and she told what she had experienced. She had not yet filed a police complaint and, according to Sequeira, “she is accompanied in the process” and later filed it.
At that time, she was certified and has not yet returned to work. Beyond that, she asked that the section and schedule will be changed and from management it was granted.
Sequeira and Invernizzi agreed that, since the climate inside the institution was “a little tense” –in her words– they “suggested” to those indicated that they take the regulatory annual leave. One of them has already rejoined and the rest are still on leave.
“Among those denounced there are some who say they were not there (….) some have denied absolutely everything (…) We had conversations with them and we are looking at how we can act without also violating people’s rights. We can end up paying ourselves if later some sanction is understood to be abusive when there was nothing. We are waiting and attentive to what the Justice resolves to act accordingly,” said Invernizzi.
In that sense, he added: “We still can’t do anything else, we are tied hand and foot because for now this is a complaint for something that happened outside the institution. We have no jurisdiction, so to speak. If it’s true, it’s unfortunate. We are following it carefully and we are waiting for Justice to decide for us to act accordingly.”
