United States NGO donates ambulance and supplies to volunteer firefighters in Nicaragua

The United States Embassy, ​​through the Minister Counselor at that diplomatic headquarters, Carla Fleharty, delivered this past Friday an ambulance and humanitarian assistance supplies (helmets, fire extinguishers, hoses, etc.) to the Civil Association Corps of Nicaragua Volunteer Firefighters (ACCBVN), an organization that responds to emergencies in Managua and 17 other cities.

The delivery, according to the North American embassy, ​​will benefit various low-income communities in the country. “Yesterday we received a new donation from Wisconsin Partners for the Civil Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Nicaragua,” the diplomatic headquarters published on networks.

The donation was made by Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners, an organization that has been channeling aid from US citizens for 55 years to communities throughout the country. Other donations that the organization made during 2024 to rural communities in Nicaragua consisted of school packages, toys, clothing and food for low-income children.

“Thank you to the hundreds of people who participated in making this most recent shipment possible, two years in the making… a lot of moving and packing donated items in all types of weather, multiple modes of transportation along the way, the financial donations (…) and all the people behind the scenes who graciously and voluntarily come together for the good of others,” the organization published on social networks.

The organization works in several communities in Nicaragua with the participation of American volunteers who share their social work experiences. In addition to helping, the NGO offers specialization courses to young people, including sewing, painting and crafts.

Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners carries out an annual fundraising campaign during the end of the year in several communities in this United States state to raise its 2025 donation budget.
