Unit 1 of the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Plant is reintegrated into the electrical system

Reintegran la Unidad 1 de la Central Termoeléctrica Punta Catalina al sistema eléctrico

Santo Domingo.- The Generating Company Punta Catalina (EGEPC) reported this Friday that Unit 1 of the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Plant (CTPC) has been stably reintegrated into the Interconnected Electrical System, after successfully completing a corrective maintenance process.

The EGEPC explained that, with this reincorporation, efficient and continuous operation in electricity generation is ensured, thus reinforcing the country’s energy supply. The unit had been temporarily taken offline for maintenance work, which was carried out as planned.

The company thanked citizens for their understanding during this period and reaffirmed its commitment to offering a reliable and quality electricity generation service, vital for the economic and social development of the Dominican Republic.

The Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant is one of the main generating plants in the country, and its return to full operation strengthens the stability of the national electrical system.
