Hotel de la cadena Blue Diamond

AREQUIPA, Peru – Despite the mediocre performance of tourism in Cuba, the Canadian chain Blue Diamond Resorts promotes this Sunday in Varadero “the new jewel” in its portfolio, the Resonance Hotels brand.

A report from the state Latin Press points out that the brand was designed for “travelers in search of unique experiences” and was initially presented 15 days ago in Cayo Santa María, in the central province of Villa Clara.

On that occasion, tour operators and reporters attended the presentation of the proposal, and something similar happened this weekend in the main sun and beach destination on the Island.

Divided into groups, these professionals toured areas of the Resonance Varadero hotel, one of the four resorts in the country where the concept will be present, since the beaches of Santa Lucía and Marea del Portillo, in the respective eastern territories of Camagüey, are added to the aforementioned places. and Granma.

Resonance, for those over 18 years of age and with the all-inclusive format, includes two different variants, Musique and Blu, promoted as two hotels in the same resort.

“The first option proposes theme parties, crossfit, DJ presentations and endless fun; while the second focuses on the search for tranquility through yoga, Pilates, tai chi exercises and workshops aimed at various learning, with tourism focused on health,” said company spokespersons.

Both mentioned spaces have Harmony Club, an alternative that allows you to personalize guest staywith access to exclusive areas of the beach and Premium drinks, among other benefits.

The “unique experiences” of Cuba

While the Castro regime’s propaganda exalts the abundance and comfort of its hotels on the Island, the Cuban people suffer from shortages of food, medicine, and the lack of electricity, gas or water.

Likewise, while the official press invites people to live “unique experiences” in the country, the experience of visitors is usually affected by the singularities of Cuba, although not of a positive nature.

On September 19, for example, two Peruvian youtubers traveled to Cuba as tourists to record videos for their social networks. However, just two days after arriving in Havana they were detained by the authorities, interrogated by Castro’s State Security (SE) and deported to their country.

This is Eva Cavero and Andrés Izarnótegui, a young couple behind the channel called “The Blue Combi” in which they record travel, lifestyle and useful advice blogs.

“They looked for us directly in our hotel room, took us to the immigration offices and interrogated us for 12 hours, then we were deported to our country (Peru). We do not make this video to denounce the facts but to inform you of the situation to which you may be exposed if you plan to travel to Cuba. We were victims of a regime that does not allow freedom of expression in any sense,” Eva and Andrés summarized as the moral of their story on the Island.

Other unique experiences that tourists live on the Island go beyond the censorship and repression of the dictatorship, being more related to the shortcomings, quality of services and the state of crisis existing in the country.

The proliferation of midges in tourist destinations Cubaespecially in coastal areas, began to generate complaints from tourists, especially Russians, one of the national groups that travel the most to the Island for recreation.

The most widespread case started from a Telegram channel in Russiawhere tourist Liudmila, who lives in Moscow, shared photographs in early December of the welts caused by the bites and reported her experience.

“Tourists cannot rest in Varadero because of the local gnats.” According to his testimony, “they are more ferocious than Cuban mosquitoes… Their bites are not felt, but the subsequent blisters do not give you any rest,” he wrote.

On the other hand, the blackout that paralyzed Cuba Starting on Friday, October 18, it took by surprise numerous Canadian tourists who were visiting the Island and who later suggested to their compatriots, through the presspostpone any plans to visit the largest of the Antilles.

François Laramée, who was staying at the Starfish hotel in Varaderodescribed the situation in Cuba as “worse than worse.” “We are running on generators. “We have no information about what is happening,” the tourist commented to the Canadian media. TVA Nouvelles. Likewise, he regretted the conditions in which the hotels in the region are found.
