Union and Change asks Trump to allocate funds from Venezuela to health and education

The party highlights the importance of establishing institutional, legitimate and transparent mechanisms to manage funds and prevent acts of corruption

The Union and Change party proposes that Donald Trump’s government allocate Venezuelan funds that rest in bank accounts in the United States, as well as the income obtained from the sale of Venezuelan oil, to address the social crisis that affects the Venezuelan population.

Through a statement addressed to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, to the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott K. Bessent, the political organization referred to the “dramatic social situation that afflicts us as a nation” and in that sense, proposes prioritizing care in the health and education system.

In the text, published this January 13suggest that the resources obtained from the sale of oil be channeled “to solve the problems that afflict the Venezuelan people.”

The Unión y Cambio proposal includes the funds planned “for the operation of political institutions that are no longer valid and that are not necessary to preserve Venezuela’s assets abroad.” He did not directly mention the institutions, but asked that this money be used “solely and exclusively” in the social area.

They also propose the creation of “institutional, legitimate and transparent” mechanisms to manage the funds and prevent acts of corruption.

Unión y Cambio offers its contribution from the National Assembly to promote “legal reforms that guarantee legal security for investors, as well as the transparent and efficient administration of resources.”

Donald Trump’s government has indicated that it will control the sale of Venezuelan oil for an “indefinite” period and the income from these transactions will be deposited in bank accounts in Washington that they will manage directly.

According to the official statement released by the North American Department of Energy, on January 7, the US administration began to market Venezuelan crude oil in the global market, with the support of large raw materials trading companies and international banks.
