The tests for the Unified National Public Exam (CNPU) will begin to be distributed from August 3 until the day before the contest is held, on August 18. More than 2.1 million candidates will take the exam in 228 municipalities in the 27 states of the federation.
According to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), responsible for administering the competition, the tests are stored in an undisclosed location for security reasons, certified by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) and already used by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) to store tests from previous editions of the National High School Exam (Enem).
The more than 18.7 thousand packets of exam papers have been stored for about three months, since the postponement of the contestdue to the emergency situation in Rio Grande do Sul caused by heavy rains that affected candidates who would take the tests in the state. The date set in the initial notice was May 5.
Logistics
Starting on August 3, the envelopes containing the tests will be sent to the central warehouses of the Post Office in each state, where they will remain for four days until the day before the test is administered, on August 17. The general coordinator of Logistics for the CPNU of the MGI, Alexandre Retamal, explains that after the tests arrive in the states, the phase of internalization of the documents begins, which consists of taking the tests to the municipalities where they will be administered.
“Once they arrive in these cities, the tests are stored in the local Post Office warehouses at each test center. On the day of the test, what we call last-mile transportation takes place, when routes are taken from the Post Office warehouse to the schools where the tests will be administered. At the end of the exam, on the same day, the tests will be collected. Reverse logistics begins,” explains Retamal.
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) will operate on the highways to facilitate these journeys.
“Know that, on that day, what candidates have to do is remain calm and do their best because the Ministry of Management and Innovation is also working to ensure security and so that candidates can be sure that suitability and our objective of democratizing access [ao concurso] are true”, highlights the coordinator.
Security
With the exam postponed, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services collected all 18,757 test packets. At the secure location, the packets were individually checked by a security teamwhich confirmed that they were all intact, assured the MGI.
Since the preparation phase of the so-called Enem dos Concurso, the Ministry of Management has created a safety network with the aim of combating any possibility of fraud. This network is formed by the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp/MJSP), Federal Police (PF), Federal Highway Police (PRF), Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), National Force (FN) and state Public Security Secretariats.
On the day of the exam, as recommended by the Federal Police, the organization of the unified competition will conduct a biometric exam (fingerprint collection) and handwriting exam on all participants. This new process aims to ensure that the candidate taking the exam will be the same person who will take office, if approved, in January 2025.
Candidates will not be able to leave with their test booklet or make notes on the confirmation card, but those who stay until the last 30 minutes of each test period will be able to take the sheet with notes of the answers marked.
“We have been working on all the recommendations that these security agencies are bringing us to implement in the competition, improving our application and security logistics so that candidates can take the test with peace of mind,” said MGI coordinator Alexandre Retamal.
