The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) He delivered two tanks to the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago, in order to strengthen the supply of drinking water and improve response capacity against emergencies such as forest fires, droughts and shortages of shortages.
Each of these vehicles has a transport capacity of 8,000 liters of waterwhich, according to the entity, will allow to supply about 10,000 people daily in the islands. One of the carotanques was assigned to San Andrés and the other to Providencia, and will be managed directly by local authorities.

This delivery marks the closure of the distribution process of a total of 80 tank that were acquired by the previous administration and that, after a process of recovery and assurance, are already in operation in different regions of the country.
The delivery to San Andrés and Providencia was made by direct transfer, with the aim of guaranteeing autonomous and efficient use by the territorial entities.
Since April 2024, The UNGRD has distributed more than three million liters of drinking water throughout the country, reaching more than 145,000 people in remote areas. Most of this distribution has concentrated on La Guajira, in response to what is ordered by Judgment T-302 of the Constitutional Court, which declares a humanitarian crisis in that department for the lack of access to water.
