The Minister of the Interior, Federico González, described the murder of journalist Humberto Coronel as “unfortunate” as he left Radio Amambay in Pedro Juan Caballero.
“It is really unacceptable. Since that attack against the PJC mayor, the city of PJC has had a substantial growth in police and military personnel, but unfortunately it is impossible to cover all the blocks,” said Minister González in conversation with the GEN channel of Nación Media.
The minister explained that the police officers assigned to cover the area of the radio station were half a block away at the time of the incident, but could not prevent what happened.
“It is impossible to cover all the blocks of a city that has been in the same situation for 20 years,” he stressed.
