Unexpected return: they suspect that a fisherman would have killed the other in the Merín lagoon

They find a dead fisherman and the second is still missing. The investigation points to a case full of unknowns.

The disappearance of two fishermen in Laguna Merín leaves unsolved doubts while the authorities seek answers.

It all started as a normal day in the Laguna Merín. Two fishermen, Mario Antonio da Silva Aires and Pablo Ávila Carvalho, sailed in a small boat without imagining that this would be the beginning of a mystery that still has more questions than answers.

Last week, the authorities of Santa Vitoria do Palmar reported the disappearance of both men. Since then, the lagoon, calm on the outside, hides secrets in its depths. The boat appeared on the weekend, stranded on an island, empty and with footprints in the sand that did not count more than necessary. A witness claimed to have seen a man near the boat, but the contact attempt was in vain: the stranger moved away before saying a single word.
