Unemployment subsidy requests in USA They reached a total of 231,000 applications last week, which represents a decrease of 33,000 people compared to the previous figure, according to the data published Thursday by the Labor Department.
The perceptors of this benefit added in the week ended on September 6 a total of 1,920 million, equivalent to a setback in the number of beneficiaries of 7,000 people compared to 1,927 million of the previous seven days. In the same comparable period of 2024 they stood at 1,827 million.
The main increases were given in Texas (15,346), Mistigan (3,018), Connecticut (1,454), North Dakota (684) and Minnesota (325). On the other hand, the most pronounced falls were recorded in New York (-3.623), Tennessee (-2,994), California (-1,702), Illinois (-1,063) and Massachusetts (-830).
The highest unemployment rates backed by aid were those of New Jersey (2.7%); Rhode Island (2.1%); California, Massachusetts and Washington (2%); Puerto Rico (1.9%); Minnesota and the Columbia district (1.8%); and Nevada, New York and Oregon (1.7%).
