The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) contributed to the government and national institutions with the elaboration of more than 30 publications and knowledge products to know the impact dimensions of the crisis generated by the pandemic.
This was reported by the international organization when presenting its reports of contribution to the response and recovery during two years of covid-19 pandemicwith essential contributions for the country in terms of health, education, inclusion, employment, green economy, digital disruption, governance and social protection.
Among the results, it details the support for the recovery of more than 7,000 MSMEs in different parts of the country.

In terms of health, in the initial phase of the pandemic, UNDP supported the Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) in identifying the most vulnerable households in the District, to whom it distributed more than 1,000,000 protective masks and gloves, donated by the private sector; supported the acquisition of 45 assisted breathing ventilators, which increased the response capacity of the Intensive Care Units by 34%, saving thousands of lives.
Other highlighted results detail that through the UNDP Acceleration Laboratory, also since 2021, we have accompanied the National Innovation Cabinet of the Dominican Republic in the co-construction of a National Innovation Policy, which seeks to place people at the center and insert innovation into the DNA of citizens, institutions and the whole of society as a catalyst for new-generation public policies.
In addition, together with the Ministry of Women, the implementation of the Seal Matching RDadding 18 new companies to transform the management and structure towards greater equity and equal opportunities between women and men, impacting 54,248 people, 47.8% women and 52.2% men.
