The Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Eduardo Vergara, referred to the latest acts of violence recorded in the Metropolitan region and announced that the Government of President Gabriel Boric will sue all those responsible for the cases.
After the shooting that left four dead in the commune of La Florida and the murder of one person in the Parque Forestal, Vergara stated that “we want to show solidarity with the families that are behind it, because here it is not about numbers but rather about the sense of urgency, under which we are acting together with State institutions to protect people”.
Along these lines, the authority reported that as a Government they will file a criminal complaint against all those responsible for the acts of violence.
“Citizens must be certain that the police are doing their job, as well as the prosecutors in the Public Ministry, we have seen that working together is giving results, and we see it in the number of criminal gangs that have been dismantled in so far this year,” he added.
“Rest assured that we will continue to persevere in providing more security to Chileans, and that is why we are intensifying the work with our police and the Prosecutor’s Office,” concluded Undersecretary Vergara.
