Due to the vacuum generated by vacations, the temporary replacements have been taken by the deputy undersecretaries of the same portfolios that have been left without their holders.
Given this context, the minister(s) of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Máximo Pavez, deputy undersecretary, lowered the profile of the absence of several of the secretaries of state, stating “it is a ‘controversy’ that caught my attention , because ministers have taken vacations all their lives. If at the end of the day, ministers, parliamentarians, judges are people, and that, of course, they have to dedicate time to their families.”
in conversation with Radio Universe, the authority assured “I have accurate information that all ministers’ vacations are planned with the Presidency.” He added that “the first fortnight the ministers and undersecretaries have always alternated to make use of their break, there are several of us who are subrogating now, then the ministers will arrive, other officials substitute the undersecretaries for us.”
Pavez also stressed that “the important thing is that the Government has to continue to function, and in that, the citizens have to be very calm that this Government, like in previous years, we have coordinated teams. I am in permanent contact, I have spoken with the President, I have spoken with my minister, with other ministers as well, with the other undersecretaries about the closure of the government”.
Along these lines, he stated that “yes, coincidentally this year there was a greater number of ministers who coincided with their break, I do not give it much importance. What I can say is that the undersecretaries are, for the most part, all operational, and that It is the important thing to be able to subrogate well and for the Government to work”.
