Undersecretary of Human Rights criticizes the bill that seeks to eliminate the INDH: “It seems to me a scandal”

The Undersecretary of Human Rights, Xavier Altamiranoreferred to the bill proposed by the political movement Avancemos Chile, which seeks to suppress the existence of the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH).

For the authority, this project is “a scandal. The INDH has the advantage of being an autonomous body, if we do not have an autonomous body that defends us all, we are wrong… if Chile loses that capacity, when you are run over by your rights, you won’t have anyone to turn to”.

The initiative promoted by parliamentarians Roberto Arroyo, Victor Pino and Yovana Smoked It promotes the elimination of the INDH, under the premise that this is a “partisan political body that undermines the legal security of the State, and because other bodies already comply and must continue to comply with this protective and regulatory work.”
