Undersecretary Monsalve will visit the southern zone prior to the end of the State of Exception

The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, will travel to the regions of La Araucanía and Biobío to continue with the agenda that the Government has in the area. The visit is framed prior to the end of the State of Exception that governs the provinces of Arauco, Malleco and Cautín on Saturday. The measure was in force since mid-October of last year, and President Gabriel Boric decided not to renew it.

This is the second trip of government authorities to the area, after the eventful trip of the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, to the failed visit to the autonomous community of Temucuicui, in Ercilla.

The undersecretary’s agenda will begin this Friday, where he will hold a meeting with the regional governor, Luciano Rivas, who has asked him on several occasions to maintain the State of Exception. Later, he will meet with mayors from the province of Cautín and a council of Lonkos in Temuco.

On Saturday, Monsalve will meet with police chiefs, prosecutors, businessmen and mayors of the Malleco province. Likewise, he will visit the intercultural stadium project promoted by communities in the area. On Monday, he will travel to the Biobío region to meet with Governor Rodrigo Díaz. Police chiefs, mayors of Arauco, representatives of Huentelolen communities and victims of rural violence will be present at the event.
