The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, addressed the fateful death of Corporal David Florido Cisterna, who died after being shot in the head as part of a control operation in the Pedro Aguirre Cerda district.
It should be remembered that the official had headed to a barbershop after receiving alerts from subjects carrying firearms in the sector. Given this, the policeman arrived at the scene and one of the subjects shot him, causing his death and escaping in an unknown direction.

In that sense, Monsalve pointed out that it is a “very serious fact”, for which he announced that “the Ministry of the Interior is going to sue for the crime of homicide against a carabinero in act of service”. “It is a crime that is typified in the Code of Military Justice, in article 416, and that carries the sentence of life imprisonment,” he emphasized.
“It is what anyone who dares to commit a crime that ends with the life of a Carabineros de Chile official deserves, the highest penalties established by law, that is why we believe it is of enormous importance that they can be promptly identified. , arrest, prosecute and punish those responsible for this cowardly homicide,” he said.
