Saint Dominic.- TheGeneral Directorate of Information and Defense of Members of Social Security (DIDA) reported that, as a result of the verification, support and orientation processes developed at the national level, it managed to identify more than RD$1,000 million corresponding to accounts of deceased members in the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP), as well as more than 6,000 pensions that can be managed by their beneficiaries within the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS).
The institution explained that these resources are part of more than 117,000 deceased affiliate accountswhose heirs can initiate the processes to access the benefits that legally correspond to them, with the guidance and support of the DIDA.
Likewise, it was indicated that the identified pensions are linked to more than 26,000 pensions granted by decree of the Executive Branchwhich can be claimed by their beneficiaries once the established administrative procedures have been concluded.
These actions are part of the permanent work carried out by DIDA to strengthen citizens’ effective access to their social security rights, especially in the components of pensions, health and occupational risks.
As part of this effort, the institution highlighted that during the festivities of Christmas Eve and Christmas they offered more than 2,370 services to members and their families through the program “GIVE 24 Hours With You”a continuous care initiative that offers guidance, support and timely responses, even outside of regular administrative hours.
In the same period, the DIDA announced the delivery of more than 35,000 educational materials at the national level on the rights of members and the appropriate use of health services, including specific information on the operation of pharmacies within the system.
In addition, these contents were sent digitally to over 9,000 emails as part of the education and prevention strategy.
During these days, the institution provided guidance on membership status, Social Security Number (SSN) inquiries and health coverage, contributing to avoid undue charges to the affiliates. In addition, on Christmas Eve night there were transfers to Health Service Providers (PSS) and management of payment agreements in Greater Santo Domingo, as part of the accompaniment to citizens.
The DIDA reiterated the call to members to always carry your membership cardwhether physical or digital, to prevent irregular collections, and urged you to communicate with your ARS or the institution before making any payment or advance.
For guidance, complaints or reports of irregularities, the DIDA He remembered that he keeps the telephone line 809-472-1900available 24 hours a day.
Finally, the entity reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening its identification, orientation and support actions, with the objective of guaranteeing that each member can effectively access the benefits that correspond to them by law, in compliance with its mission of protect and defend the rights of members of the Dominican Social Security System.
