The Mercosur has a new appointment in Asunción in the middle of a discussion about what is the future of this common market where the two locomotives. Brazil and Argentina have been experiencing severe economic hardship for several years.
In the European Union, the two great machines that moved the integration of more than 25 countries were France and Germany. They managed, after having been adversaries in World War II, to establish a model that, despite all the vicissitudes, the departure of the United Kingdom or of it, continues to be a referential element in terms of the construction of economic, social and political blocs.
Here at times we have given too much emphasis to the political Mercosur, almost nothing to the social question and impossible in the economic sphere, it is time to perhaps have goals that are much more concrete, close and possible, so that the project of integration does not die in the good wishes, good resolutions, but never attainable.
