When making a comparison detailed
of the law degree thesis presented by the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, in 1987 at the Faculty of Higher Studies (FES) Aragón, with another published a year earlier, the Directorate Department of Libraries and Digital Information Services of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) found that there is a high level of coincidences between both texts

Last Thursday, said faculty communicated that after the public complaints that arose about a professional thesis of a former student of that house of studies, the aforementioned Committee would begin a detailed analysis of the content and circumstances of the case.
Since last Wednesday, journalistic reports have indicated that the minister, one of the five candidates for the presidency of the SCJN, would have plagiarized her undergraduate thesis, entitled Ineffectiveness of unions in trust workers of Article 123 Section Aafter finding out that it could be a copy of another published in 1986 by Édgar Ulises Báez, at the UNAM Law School.
However, Esquivel Mossa has defended his work and stated on social networks that the accusations are false. Since then, letters have been published in his favor by his thesis adviser, Martha Rodríguez Ortiz, who pointed out that this is original
and authored by the minister, and one of her synodals.
