Unachi Rector argues that accusations against her are part of a ‘media show’

Rector Etelvina Medianero de Bonagas affirmed that the latest accusations against her are part of a “media show”, directed by the characters who oppose her administration at the Autonomous University of Chiriquí (Unachi).

Regarding the case of double wages being investigated by the Accounts Prosecutor’s Office, he told the Metro Libre newspaper that upon his arrival at the rectory in August 2013, the appointment of Nitzia Muñoz, who worked full time at Unachi and at the Ministry of Educacuón (Meduca), had already been signed by the Comptroller. “We as rectors of state universities are not inspectors; everything was endorsed, that means that they should have suspended that salary. But it was not until July 2021 that the teacher’s salary was ordered to be suspended. Why didn’t they do it before? ”, She indicated.

In that sense, he argued that he will “get out of this, because what they are doing to me as the legal representative of this university has been unfair.”
