The Blue and White National Unity (UNAB) pointed out that Nicaragua’s early exit as a member of the Organization of American States (OAS) is due to the fact that Daniel Ortega’s regime did not resist the “coup that Arturo McFields’ complaint represented” before that entity.
In it release this Monday, April 25, the opposition group questioned the “illegal” closure of the OAS offices in Managua, which is still surrounded by police officers.
He stressed that “Daniel Ortega decides to flee after the coup represented by the complaint by Arturo Mcfields, on March 23, when he exposed the dictatorial nature of the regime and the situation of political prisoners and demanded their freedom.”

On April 24, the regime of Daniel Ortega withdrew the credentials of its representatives before the OASOrlando Tardencilla, Iván Lara and Michael Campbell, and announced the closure of the entity’s office in Managua, calling it an “instrument of Yankee imperialism.”
The UNAB stressed that “the act of withdrawing its representatives from the OAS and ordering the closure of the offices in Managua is another virulent act of the dictatorship that in its suicidal route has opted for international isolation.”
He stressed that Nicaragua’s withdrawal from the organization, the Ortega administration “does not exempt it from its international commitments on human rights and respect for political freedoms, which it currently flagrantly violates.”
He remarked that “the dictatorship knows that within the OAS rejection is majority. The regime takes this step in a flight forward, after it had already announced its withdrawal on November 19, 2021.
In addition, he called on the Nicaraguan people to continue in the fight “for the release of political prisoners and the full restitution of freedoms and demands the international community, governments and multilateral organizations to take forceful measures against the Ortega dictatorship.” Murillo”.
