UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will visit Colombia

The tall United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, An official visit to Colombia begins on January 24 that will end tomorrow, according to the office he directs in a statement.

During his visit, Türk sand will meet with representatives of the Colombian government and civil society, with human rights activistswith representatives of indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, and with members of the international community in Colombia.

In addition, the high commissioner, who has just finished a visit to neighboring Ecuador, will attend an event organized by the Swedish ambassador to Colombia, Helena Storm, in which the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be commemorated.

Tomorrow, Wednesday January 25, the high commissioner will offer a press conference in Bogotá to evaluate this visit.
