Names of young people killed by soldiers
In the first reports of the events, it was revealed that there were six young people traveling in the truck, although the Sedena report details that there were seven.
The five young people who lost their lives are:
- Gustavo Perez Beriles
- Wilberto Mata Estrada
- Jonathan Aguilar Sanchez
- Alejandro Trujillo Rocha
- Gustavo Ángel Suárez Castillo, originally from the United States
Likewise, Luis Gerardo “N” was seriously injured, while the seventh young man who was traveling in the truck, whose information was not disclosed for security reasons, was unharmed.
However, residents of the area and relatives of the victims assure that the young people did not carry weapons, did not attack the military and that it was an extrajudicial execution, which led to claims and attacks by citizens against the uniformed officers.
This version is also supported by the president of the Nuevo Laredo Human Rights Committee (CDHNL), Raymundo Ramos Vázquez.
What does the president of Mexico say about the attack?
The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, assured that if the military are guilty will be punished.
“The military authorities are already helping in the investigation so that if members of the Army are found responsible, they are punished,” he said during the press conference from the National Palace.
“The best thing is to make things clear, not hide anything. (…) As unfortunately happened in Iguala with the youth of Ayotzinapa. Why hide things? They should have told the truth and punish those responsible, but they start to fabricate another version, they fabricate crimes with other culprits. It must be very clear that this is not the government of fox either Calderon of ‘kill them hot’, human rights are respected here”, he expressed on the subject.
