The United Kingdom launched this Monday (20) a consultation on social networks and children, including the possibility of banning use for minors under a certain age, a restriction similar to that adopted by Australia for children and teenagers under 16, and stricter guidance for schools on cell phones.
The British government has announced that it will examine evidence from around the world on a wide range of proposals, including looking at the effectiveness of banning social media use for children and, if adopted, how best to make it work.
Ministers are due to visit Australia, which last month became the first country to ban social media for under-16s, hoping to learn first-hand from their approach, a statement said.
