UGASA is preparing the celebration of the second version of the UGASA Restaurant Show to be held in October of this year 2024
Santiago de los Caballeros. Darío Núñez, from the restaurant El Tablón Latino, is the new president of the Gastronomic Union of Santiago (UGASA), who was sworn in along with his team in a ceremony where he also announced the second version of the UGASA Restaurant Show 2024 from October 9 to 11 of this year 1014.
Positioned by the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodríguez, the president of UGASA assured that he will strive to collect and analyze statistics from the gastronomic sector, with the aim of making visible its impact on the income of thousands of families and its contribution to the economy of the city and the region.
Regarding the second version of the UGASA Restaurant Show, Darío Núñez reported that the event is aimed at the chain of service or product suppliers for restaurants and will have a calendar of activities for audiences interested in the food and beverage sector.
Presenting her memoirs, Larissa Fernández, former head of the association, mentioned the projects developed and the efforts undertaken in the last four years, and said that through various initiatives of national scope, UGASA, founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, has contributed to solidifying Santiago’s gastronomic offer and raising the city’s profile as a tourist destination, Fernández said.
“I look to the future with optimism and full confidence that UGASA will continue its mission of promoting Santiago as a vibrant tourist and gastronomic destination and an essential link in the chain of employment opportunities in our region,” said the Santiago associate of the La Locanda franchise.
The UGASA Board of Directors is made up of: Dario Nunez from El Tablon Latino; Elvira Garrido, from Pork & Beer; Luis Rodriguez from Rancho Chito; Francisco Castellanos from La Antillana; David Bermudez from Camp David and Cristina Toribio from La Desayuneria.
