Let us remember that the Government reported in the first instance that the President pardoned 11 people (all convicted in the context of acts of violence in the social outbreak, with the exception of the ex-frontist Jorge Mateluna). However, after 3:00 p.m., the Executive rectified and indicated that there were 13 pardoned.

“The Minister of Justice has the obligation to respond with her position for the embarrassment that the Government has just committed. Including two people on the list of pardons by mistake, and then granting them the benefit simply because of the mistake they made, is more than enough reason for them to step aside as soon as possible,” the deputies pointed out.
“We are facing a completely amateur administration, which is not even capable of correctly announcing a situation as delicate as the granting of presidential pardons,” said the UDI deputies,” they added.
Along these lines, Coloma, Labbé and Moreira warned that if the head of Justice does not resign from her position in the next few hours, “it will force us to promote different actions against her”, adding that “we are not going to doubt for a second in exercise all the tools that we have at our disposal, because we are talking about a huge error that has no justification”.
Regarding the mistake in the number of pardoned, the Ministry of Justice explained that “by mistake, the Ministry’s Communications Unit incompletely sent the list of people who were pardoned by HE the President of the Republic, through the signature of the minister of Justice and Human Rights, Marcela Ríos”.
