UDI deputies denounce that more than 80 former candidates were appointed as seremis

The deputies of the UDI, Serge Bobadilla and Juan Manuel Fuenzalidadenounced that more than 80 former leftist candidates who participated in different electoral processes in 2021, but who were not elected, were appointed by the current Government as regional ministerial secretaries (seremi) in most regions of the country, especially in the zone south.

In this regard, union parliamentarians detailed that those selected are militants and sympathizers of different parties of the Broad Front, including Commons, Democratic Revolution and Social Convergence, in addition to others such as the PC, PPD, PS, Radical Party, FREVS, Equality, Ecologist Green, among others.

“It is quite unusual the level of somersaults that we are witnessing in the current authorities, who while campaigning supported all pension withdrawals and criticized the opening of schools, but when it is their turn to govern they oppose withdrawals and recognize that the closure of schools was a mistake. And now, even more so, we see that with the appointments of the seremis, their promises of not awarding consolation prizes or hiring close or relatives in the Government are falling one by one”, questioned the UDI deputies.

In this line, Bobadilla and Fuenzalida denounced that the new seremis participated in different elections during the past year, among them the municipal, parliamentary and also the constituent ones, even being chosen people who obtained less than 200 votes, as is the case of two seremis in the Magallanes and Metropolitana regions.

“During the campaign, the President borik He said that he would build a country where there would be no room for the pituto and that he would prohibit the hiring of family and friends in positions of trust. However, he is going to have to eat his words because they did practically the opposite, as with the appointment of the ambassadors”, criticized the UDI parliamentarians, adding that “those who promised a renewal of the policy, today are repeating the same practices that they questioned so much, demonstrating an absurd inconsistency”.
