After this Thursday the National Prosecutor, Jorge Abbott, decided to gather information on the complaints made by the truckers’ union, the UDI deputies, Juan Manuel Fuenzalida and Gustavo Sanhueza, criticized his “proactivity” to investigate this matter, but criticized that not so “to pursue the narco-terrorism that is present in the South Macrozone.”
“It seems good to us that he is proactive in such old complaints, but it seems even more necessary and useful for him to explain to us his failure in the criminal investigation and conviction of terrorist attacks in the South Macrozone of the country,” the greamialist legislators lashed out.
Fuenzalida and Sanhueza added that they were sure that “the violent people feel safe planning and executing their crimes, since the Prosecutor’s Office has shown a lack of expertise and ineffectiveness that amazes, annoys and disappoints.”
“All the announcements made by the National Prosecutor to combat crime in the South have had only one result, and it is called failure,” they stressed.
The UDI parliamentarians indicated that they did not know if there is a mea culpa “for this failure of the Public Ministry, what happens with special investigative units in this area of the country, or if the Regional Prosecutor has delivered an operational report on the results obtained.”
Finally, Fuenzalida and Sanhueza affirmed that Abbott “was completely wrong in his policy of criminal prosecution in the fight against drugs and terrorism, and he will not be remembered precisely for having fought these scourges with rigor, but on the contrary, his bad praxis made these criminals eventually consolidate in the country. “
