UDI bench evaluates constitutional accusation against ministers who granted conditional release to a convicted person in the Luchsinger-Mackay case

The UDI bench of deputies is analyzing filing a constitutional accusation against the ministers of the Temuco Court of Appeals who released José Tralcal on probation, convicted of the death of the Luchsinger-Mackay couple.

The deputies Juan Manuel Fuenzalida and Jorge Alessandri announced that they are beginning the necessary legal studies to present the measure against the court magistrates.

“We will not hesitate for a second to present a constitutional accusation in the event that the legal budgets for that are given. During the last hours, together with our lawyers, we began an exhaustive review of the unusual ruling that granted parole to one of the murderers of the Luchsinger-Mackay couple and if we come to the conclusion that there is sufficient evidence to file a constitutional accusation against the members of the commission that granted the benefit, we will not hesitate to do so,” they declared.

Emphasizing the above, they indicated that “we are talking about the freedom of those who participated in one of the most sordid crimes in our history, and if there were legal or constitutional violations in the process, there must be those responsible.”

“This must be, by far, one of the most shameful rulings for the Chilean judiciary, and as a UDI bench we are going to make sure that there are those responsible. The Judiciary cannot continue to protect terrorists who have caused so much damage to our country “, the parliamentarians concluded.
