UCV students ask Delcy Rodríguez for freedom for all political prisoners

Delcy Rodríguez assured that the authorities are working for “democratic coexistence” and asked politicians to be “responsible.” He said that “there are NGOs that are charging the relatives (of prisoners)” and asked the students not to fall into manipulations.


Students from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) confronted Delcy Rodríguez, head of the Executive, this Tuesday, January 27, and demanded freedom for all political prisoners.

“Freedom for Jesús Armas, president,” requested the president of the Federation of University Centers (FCU-UCV), Miguelangel Suárez, and for all those imprisoned for political reasons. He also mentioned Roalmi Cabeza and said that there are more than 200 young people detained in the country.

Other students asked the person in charge of power, after the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, to “put her hand on her heart for the freedom of all political prisoners.”

Suárez asked him to put an end to the situation experienced by the relatives of political prisoners outside the detention centers, who have remained vigil and camping since the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced that there would be a significant number of releases.

Delcy Rodríguez assured that the authorities are working for “democratic coexistence” and asked politicians to be “responsible.” He said that “there are NGOs that are charging relatives” and asked the students not to fall into manipulation: “Enough lying, enough manipulation. It cost this country very dearly, it suffered military aggression,” she said, at the same time that she became upset and did not continue the conversation with Miguelangel Suárez because she considered that he was not listening to her.

The student leader stated that there are still more than 800 political prisoners in the country and called on Rodríguez to free them all.

The first vice president of Parliament, Pedro Infante, said this Tuesday that cases continue to be evaluated to approve new releases. Authorities say that since last December more than 800 precautionary measures have been taken and NGOs have confirmed fewer than 300.

This claim to the person in charge of power occurred in the middle of a visit she made to the Central University of Venezuela to verify the status of the recovery work at this university.

Rodríguez also delivered works to modernize the transportation service. nephrology of the University Hospital of Caracas with 12 dialysis chairs and a specialized operating room for complex procedures.
