The Universidad Central del Este (UCE), through its Faculty of Architecture and Arts and the University of Florence Italy (UNIFI), developed the international workshop “Sound spaces: architecture, music and public spaces”, which took place at the UCE headquarters from September 5 to 8.
Opening the activity, the director of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, Francesco Gravina said that the importance of the exchange with the University of Florence lies in the relationship that exists between it and the UCE, through which exchanges of Dominican students who have gone to UNIFI to take a semester of architecture, also with teachers.
On this occasion, three students from the University of Florence: Antonella Mariani, Marco Porceddu and Mariana Boccone, will take a semester of the same career at the Universidad Central del Este, whose subjects will be validated upon their return to Italy.
The UNIFI teachers who will present at the workshop are the architects: Riccardo Pulselli, with the theme: “The energy-ecological transition, a challenge for all”; María De Santis: “Ten projects towards housing quality, post-pandemic social housing”, and, Sonia Vieira: “Architecture and music, an infinite design experience”.
The architect María De Santis, is an associate professor in Architecture Technology at the DIDA of the University of Florence, and in the architecture and landscaping degrees; the architect, Riccardo Pulselli, is a researcher and teacher at the Department of Architecture at the University of Florence, and the architect, Sonia Vieira, is a teacher at the University of Morocco.
The workshop was attended by the ambassador of Italy in the Dominican Republic, Stefano Queriolo Palmas, in support of his fellow citizens.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, directed by the architect Francesco Gravina, and the Department of National and International Liaison, directed by Sandra Olaya.
