The City of São Paulo, through the Municipal Health Department (SMS), is carrying out an action this Saturday (24) in Basic Health Units (UBSs) to intensify vaccination against measles and yellow fever. Called D-Day, the measure aims to check and update the population’s vaccination card in all regions of the city.
The UBSs will be open on Saturday, from 8am to 5pm, and will make several immunizers available from the vaccination schedule. Vaccines will also be offered, in the same period, in Outpatient Medical Assistance (AMAs)/Integrated UBSs. The population can locate the nearest unit through the Busca Saúde platform. In partnership with the Municipal Department of Education, multi-vaccination actions will also take place at Unified Educational Centers (CEUs), on Saturday, from 9am to 4pm.
According to the Health Surveillance coordinator, Mariana Araújo, “vaccination is the main form of prevention against measles, yellow fever, and various diseases. Keeping the booklet updated is essential for the health of the entire population, as it prevents the reintroduction and circulation of vaccine-preventable diseases”.

The SMS points out that since the vaccination intensification actions began on January 12, more than 30 thousand doses of immunization agents have been applied. Of these doses, 16,024 were vaccines against measles and 14,748 against yellow fever.
