The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) reported an incident that occurred last Thursday, October 9, at its Headquarters, where Mr. Fernando Abreu and a group of companions confronted students, which required the intervention of security personnel.
The university institution warned that it will take formal legal action in the next few hours and that it will present evidence of the events of that day, in addition to other occasions in which this type of situation has occurred from the headquarters of the university campus in which the institutional regulations are not respected to carry out disturbing activities by people outside the university community.

According to the UASD, the political leader Fernando Abreu broke the rules of coexistence of the university, which has historically been a forge of plurality of thought and defender of democratic values, which is why, under the protection of Law 5778 of Autonomy of the UASD of December 31, 1961, they adopt these measures.
The university stated that they have more than 80,000 students in their Headquarters, Therefore, they ask you to renounce carrying out any type of activity that threatens the proper development of teaching and the safety of the students, who, according to the UASD statement, come with great effort day after day in order to achieve their professional aspirations.

Abreu, who is president of the La Nueva Derecha party of Patria Libre, referred to the issue in recent days and assured that he would take legal action against the teachers who, according to him, showed up in a violent manner to prevent a free-thinking debate from taking place, which ended in an incident of physical aggression between those involved.
