Santo Domingo, DR.- With the aim of joining forces to create joint projects for the benefit of the diaspora, the Open University for Adults (UAPA) and the Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic in Italy (CCRDI) signed a cooperation agreement.
The alliance signed by the rector of the university, Alejandra Hernández Acosta, and the president of the commercial entity, Nancy Polanco, seeks to develop strategic actions that contribute significantly to the economic, social and cultural progress of the Dominican and Italian nations, through the agreement.
In addition, it will serve as a platform to promote initiatives in key areas such as higher education, research, entrepreneurship and trade, among other actions,
Both signatory directors agreed to highlight that the alliance will allow the strengths of each of the institutions to be leveraged, creating synergies that maximize the benefits for the academic, business and social communities in the Dominican Republic and Italy.
The agreement was signed during the presentation of the CCRDI in the city of Santo Domingo, in the presence of government and business authorities from the Caribbean and European countries.
The CCRDI is an entity that pursues activities that favor and contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the Dominican nation and Italy.
UAPA is the first virtual distance university in the country and, with almost 30 years of existence, has trained more than 48 thousand professionals. It has headquarters in Santiago and campuses in Santo Domingo and Nagua, as well as Support Offices in the United States and Europe.
