The Montevideo Police managed to arrest two criminals who had just committed a robbery against a bakery located in the Conciliación neighborhood.
The incident occurred in a business located on Camino Ariel and Garzón streets. There two men entered and forced the owners of the premises to give them the collection that they had in the cash register. Under threat of firearms, the merchants gave them 14,650 pesos and then the thieves fled with the money.
The victims reported the events immediately and the Police conducted a tour of the area. During the search of the Conciliación neighborhood, the agents saw two people who matched the description. The subjects, seeing the police presence, fled. Racing the two criminals began to get rid of the affections they had with them and dropped a backpack containing a 22-caliber firearm without cartridges, a purse with documents, the stolen money and a cell phone.
They were stopped on the roofs
The persecution moved to the roofs of the house in the area, where the Police finally managed to arrest these people. At the time of the capture, the officers seized a homemade firearm with a projectile.
The agents transferred the criminals to Operational Zone IV and there they analyzed the footage from the local cameras and the photographs taken of the suspects, as well as the recovered objects.
The detainees were placed under the orders of the 5th Shift Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, who formalized them before the 45th Shift criminal judge. After completing the judicial instance, the young people, aged 19 and 20, with no criminal record, were sentenced for a crime of robbery. For this crime they must serve a sentence of 22 months in prison.
